  • Implement and maintain management system accordance with ISO 9001, 14001 AND 45000 Standards
  • Liaise with staff, clients and suppliers in all areas concerned with SHEQ
  • Assume responsibility for SHEQ Management for all operations inland
  • Communicate with the Operational teams the SHEQ requirement needed to be implemented and maintained on the Sites and by Suppliers/ Subcontractors
  • Ensure suppliers/subcontractors perform their tasks according to the client requirements and report all deviations to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure SHEQ best operating practices are adopted & implemented and site activities including focusing on Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality (QC & QA) issues.
  • Identify and communicate to the site teams, SHEQ records to be generated and maintained within the relevant site.
  • The development and implementation of SHEQ procedures and work instruction.
  • Implement and maintain the requirement of the occupational Health & Safety Act85 of 1993
  • Assist with SHEQ training of Company personnel.
  • Ensure Implementation, maintenance and upgrading of the ISO 9001, 14001 & 45000 Management system.



  • Ensure the SHEQ system is implemented by all levels of staff and that any deficiencies identified are reported to ensure continued effectiveness of the Safety at offices, operational sites as well as manufacturing Facilities.
  • Identify and correct any deficiencies in SHEQ system and monitor its effectiveness in the light of changing technologies and to regulation changes.
  • Ensure the Occupational Health & Safety Act 85 of 1993 and all relevant Regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure high risk management standards are adhered to.



  • Train & Familiarize all personnel on the applicable Company standards, local applicable Legislation & Regulations, and other requirements.
  • Assist in the drafting of all safe work procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Safety system manuals documentation.
  • Provide SHEQ awareness training to all staff
  • Assist operational team members in resolving SHEQ non-conformances and disputes.
  • Prepare Safety Statistics and reports at required intervals.
  • Plan, schedule and execute monthly internal Safety and quality audits.
  • Ensure that suppliers and subcontractors adhere to all safety requirements
  • Ensure the maintenance and upgrading of the quality, health, environment, and Safety standards & management systems.
  • Review and evaluate safety performance (internal, site and suppliers)
  • Control the site safety programmes
  • Convene and chair all safety meetings.
  • Co-ordinate investigations into accidents or incidents that occurred on site.
  • Ensure that adequate firefighting and first aid equipment is available, and personnel are trained.
  • Coordinate fire and emergency drills.
  • Participate actively in meetings with the main objective of improving the Company’s effectiveness, service, and profitability by maintaining the highest possible safety standards.
  • Maintain Safety Precautions and sound housekeeping principles and due care of all equipment/assets under your control.
  • Evaluate training requirements to ensure legal compliance
  • Prepare and conduct SHEQ induction presentation for all employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • On call 24 hours to respond to any incidents or accidents.
  • Perform any other duties required by your designated Manger.
  • Facilitate risk assessments in area of responsibly and provide support to management teams in identifying adequate control measures.
  • Ensure that adequate emergency preparedness exists at branches and operations sites.
  • Review all NCR’s, CAR, Concessions & Client instruction and ensure that SHEQ plans are revised, approved, and issued.


Qualifications/ Competencies/ Experience:

  • Tertiary SHEQ Related Qualification essential
  • Chemical Handling Safety Courses Advantage
  • Five years’ experience in a similar environment
  • Production (Chemicals) and workshop experience
  • Broad Knowledge of Industry Standards, Legal Requirements, Auditing Methods, and ISO Standards
  • Familiar with the use of Ms Excel, Ms Word, Ms PowerPoint, and G-Suite Apps i.e., Google- Drive Docs, Sheets & Sheet Slides
  • SAMTRAC, HIRA. First Aid Level 1 and Incident/ Accident Investigations
  • Broad Knowledge and experience in developing, implementing & maintaining ISO 9001, 145001 as well as 45000 Management Systems.
