Our client is seeking a Senior Site Agent to lead large to complex projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively optimising the financial performance of the site and implementation of site-specific systems, allocation of resources, quality and health and safety.

Responsibilities:

Contract Management and Client Relationship:

  • Leads the negotiation and resolution of large to complex contractual disputes, prioritising client satisfaction while protecting the company’s interests.
  • Develops and implements effective communication strategies to maintain positive client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Manages high-profile client relationships and acts as the primary point of contact for all contractual communication.
  • Negotiates large to complex project contracts and manages relationships with key stakeholders, including the client.
  • Develops and implements strategic communication plans to manage client expectations and ensure a positive client experience for large to complex projects.
  • Oversees the entire process of identifying, documenting, and processing large to complex project contract variations and claims.
  • Leads communication strategies for all complex contractual matters, ensuring clear and effective communication with the client and other stakeholders.
  • Leads the negotiation and resolution of complex contractual disputes, aiming for fair and commercially viable solutions.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the construction contract and its legal nuances.
  • Manages the entire project to guarantee all contractual obligations are met by all parties involved.

Construction Management:

  • Leads the process of identifying and resolving complex technical challenges throughout the construction project.
  • Actively researches and implements innovative construction methods and technologies to improve project efficiency and quality on large to complex projects.
  • Oversees the technical support provided to subcontractors, ensuring they understand and implement complex construction details according to specifications.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

  • Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive SHE management plan tailored to the specific needs and risks of the project.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of a comprehensive safety management system with clear policies and procedures.
  • Leads the identification of high-risk activities on complex projects and implements strategies to effectively mitigate those risks.
  • Oversees a comprehensive site inspection program to identify and address potential hazards before they cause incidents on large to complex projects.
  • Ensures the entire project team adheres to all health, safety, security, and housekeeping standards on large projects.
  • Leads the development and implementation of training programs to ensure a competent workforce that understands job requirements and safety regulations of complex projects.
  • Oversees the entire job safety assessment process to guarantee all tasks are properly evaluated and authorised before work begins on large to complex projects.
  • Ensures a system is in place for completing and verifying safety checklists before any activity commences on large to complex projects.
  • Oversees the entire PPE program to ensure all personnel on site have the required and properly fitted PPE large to complex projects.
  • Develops and implements a culture of safety where everyone is responsible for adhering to safety regulations and protocols throughout large project.
  • Oversees the entire safety incident reporting process to ensure timely and accurate reporting across lifecycle of complex projects.
  • Develops and implements, monitors, and enforces a comprehensive SHE management plan for large to complex projects under their supervision.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of daily safety meetings and training programs tailored to the specific needs on large to complex projects.

Procurement and Cost Management:

  • Leads value engineering exercises across multiple projects to identify alternative materials or methods that can reduce costs while maintaining quality.
  • Oversees the entire procurement and management process for materials and tools on large to complex projects.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive inventory control measures to ensure efficient material utilisation throughout the lifecycle on large to complex projects.
  • Oversees a system for logging and tracking equipment usage to ensure efficient management and cost control on large to complex projects.
  • Develops and implements communication plans to streamline scheduling and coordination with the laboratory for concrete and density testing on large to complex projects.
  • Oversees a system for identifying and promptly reporting any material-related problems that could impact project costs or quality on large to complex projects.
  • Analyses material wastage data on large to complex projects to identify root causes and develop strategies for minimising waste throughout its lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with the Quantity Surveyor to develop accurate cost estimates for all project tasks on large to complex projects, considering material, labour, and equipment requirements.
  • Analyses project costs, identifies variances from the budget on large projects, and reports them to the project manager with recommendations for corrective actions.

Project Management and Planning:

  • Schedules resources (people and equipment) across large to complex projects to optimise overall efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Oversees large to complex projects, ensuring all adhere to their designated timelines.
  • Analyses large to complex project schedules across multiple projects to find opportunities for efficiency gains.
  • Manages communication of the schedule across various subcontractors working on large to complex projects.
  • Oversees the sequencing of activities on large to complex projects to optimise overall workflow.
  • Oversees progress on large to complex projects, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays.
  • Manages and updates the schedules of large to complex projects, ensuring they reflect real-time progress and adjustments.
  • Ensures materials and equipment are ordered and delivered to meet the needs the project.
  • Leads production meetings on large to complex projects, sets efficiency targets, and oversees the implementation of cost-effective production strategies.
  • Manages equipment rentals and returns of complex projects to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitors progress against contract programs for large projects and ensures adherence.
  • Identifies and resolves complex problems that could delay the project.
  • Manages the setting and maintaining of production targets on complex projects.
  • Manages the development of small trade programs and target dates for various projects.
  • Maintains clear communication with the client’s site staff regarding project schedules.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Ensures a culture of quality is established and maintained throughout complex project lifecycles.
  • Ensures all project documents, including plans, drawings, and material quantities, are accurate and up to date.
  • Manages the completion of a comprehensive range of quality assurance tasks across of complex construction projects.
  • Oversees the entire quality control process of large to complex projects to guarantee project outcomes meet the established quality requirements.
  • Oversees the entire inspection process to guarantee all mandatory inspections are conducted and documented with proper signoffs.
  • Leads the analysis of working drawings to identify and mitigate potential quality issues before construction commences.
  • Develops and implements strategies to optimise the work environment for effective quality control on complex projects.

Risk Management:

  • Manages risks on multiple complex projects, implementing strategies to address high-impact and intricate risk scenarios.
  • Reviews all project risk assessments on complex projects and ensures appropriate mitigating controls are in place.
  • Oversees the maintenance and updating of Project Risk Registers for large to complex projects.
  • Issues site instructions and work permits based on identified risks and mitigation plans on large projects.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Provides guidance and direction on large to complex projects for the preparation of progress reports, ensuring they align with project objectives and client requirements.
  • Reviews and approves complex progress reports before submission.
  • Sets the overall strategy for documenting complex site activities and ensures proper procedures are followed.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive project filing system for the entire project.
  • Establishes complex communication protocols for timely updates to all stakeholders.
  • Oversees the archiving process for project documents according to company policies and regulations on large to complex projects.

People Management:

  • Practices effective people management.

  • Co-ordinates and controls the activities of site staff and agrees quality standards set out in contract.

Requirements:

  • Minimum: BSc Degree in Construction Management
  • Ideal: Post Graduate Degree Construction
  • Building Experience: 10+ years
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using computers and relevant construction software (e.g., estimating software, BIM).
