Production Admin Manager - CA Global Group
Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in controlled environments and safety technologies, is seeking an experienced Production Admin Manager to oversee production administration, inventory governance, stores control and inbound supply coordination. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory and production records, appropriate stock availability, effective stores controls, reliable management reporting and compliant inbound logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Manage production administration, inventory control, stores operations and inbound supply activities.
- Supervise the Inventory Controller and Storeman, including daily priorities, performance, training and leave cover.
- Oversee receiving, quarantine, storage, stock rotation, picking, issuing, dispatch and inventory adjustments.
- Manage production orders, job setup, inventory transactions and bill-of-material accuracy.
- Coordinate stock takes and cycle counts, investigate variances and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels, reorder points, shortages, excess stock, slow-moving stock and replenishment requirements.
- Coordinate stock requirements with Production, Sales, Service and Engineering.
- Place and expedite authorised replenishment orders and manage critical supply requirements.
- Coordinate international and domestic freight, including freight forwarders, clearing agents, customs documentation and deliveries.
- Track inbound shipments and resolve delays, shortages, damages and documentation issues.
- Prepare and analyse inventory, stock-take, supplier performance and operational management reports.
- Maintain inventory controls, quality requirements and audit-ready records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and recurring operational control failures and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and recommend improvements to inventory, stores, logistics and production administration processes.
- Escalate critical shortages, significant stock variances, supplier failures, customs delays and other operational risks.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Relevant diploma or qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Procurement, Finance Administration or a related field. Substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a relevant qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience within manufacturing inventory, production administration, warehousing, procurement or logistics.
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- Practical experience working with ERP systems, with SAP Business One strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, data validation, pivot tables and management reporting.
- Working knowledge of bills of material (BOMs), production orders, inventory valuation, stock-taking controls and international freight.
- A valid South African driver’s licence is advantageous.
