We’re recruiting for a HMR (Home Meal Replacement) Specialist in Gauteng to support the growth of our clients’ Hot Deli category, specifically in the Franchise and Independent Market sectors.

Reporting to: General Manager Speciality Foods

Main Purpose of the Job:

Increase sales of the HMR category/brand, over-and-above maintaining the company’s  market volume share at existing and new customers.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Matric as a minimum qualification
• Degree in Food Technology or equivalent is advantageous.
• Minimum of 1 – 3 year’s sales experience preferably within FMCG.
• Basic cooking ability – demos and presentations to clients/customers.
• Able to conduct formal presentations and communicate effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and flexible to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan sales calls to ensure a value-added approach.
• Learn and apply client classifications.
• Plan on building market share across all categories.
• Drive and achieve volumes/budget across all the company’s categories.
• Conduct demos and other adhoc activities as required.
• Build on and research product and industry knowledge.
• Work on promotional activity as per guidelines required.
• Build client relationships and ensure service effectiveness.
• Analyse competitor activity and market trends and feedback on market intelligence.
• Submit weekly sales and ADAPT reports by the required deadline.
• Proactively look for new business and market opportunities.
• Manage sales administration and other duties as required.
• Deliveries carried out to company standard where appropriate.
• C-Track in line with company standards.
• Ensure stock levels are monitored

Ideal Candidate:

• BSc Food Tech / Applied Food Sciences / Nutrition / Chef’s Diploma
• Passion for cooking (recipe development or food manufacturing experience preferred)
• 1-3 years’ FMCG sales experience
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
