ENVIRONMENT:

A dynamic provider of sustainable Tech Solutions to the Agricultural sector seeks a highly experienced Inventory Manager whose core role will entail inventory governance, stock control processes, and the integrity of raw materials and finished goods across businesses both locally and abroad. You will head up inventory at production sites, warehouses, other operational locations, distributors, and third-party agents. The successful candidate will implement standardized inventory systems, procedures, and controls to minimize losses, improve accuracy, and ensure timely, accurate, consolidated reporting. Applicants must possess a suitable Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics/Finance or similar field with 5 years’ experience in stock or inventory management, ERP and inventory management systems with the ability to implement stock control processes effectively.

DUTIES:

  • Develop and maintain standardized, practical, and scalable stock control policies, procedures, systems, and controls across all operating countries and stockholding locations, including businesses with limited resources.
  • Ensure all inventory movements within and between sites, warehouses, distributors, and other locations are accurately recorded, tracked, and supported by the required documentation.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Introduce and maintain controls to reduce losses from theft, damage, and administrative errors.
  • Plan and coordinate regular cycle count and annual stock counts, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
  • Review stock management practices, address weaknesses, and strengthen operational discipline across countries and locations.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are consistently applied at production sites, warehouses, consignment depots, distributor locations, and third-party agents.
  • Ensure third-party and distributor stock is accurately recorded, appropriately controlled, and visible in inventory records.
  • Regularly reconcile distributor and consignment inventory balances with records and follow up on differences.
  • Prepare consolidated reports on inventory variances and overall performance.
  • Analyse and report on slow-moving and obsolete inventory, shrinkage, and other key inventory risks, with practical recommendations.
  • Support Finance teams with accurate month-end inventory reconciliations and audit requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

  • A relevant Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a related field.

Experience/Skills -

  • At least 5 years’ experience in stock or inventory management.
  • Strong experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to complete and review inventory reconciliations.
  • Experience managing raw materials and finished goods across multiple locations, countries, or distributor networks will be advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to implement stock control processes effectively.
  • Preferred that the home language of the candidates is Afrikaans, with strong writing and speaking in English.
  • Prefer candidates who reside in the Western Cape and will be prepared to travel to Wellington daily. One or two days from home will be considered after 6 months but not guaranteed.
