Our client is looking for an Electrician in their Engineering Department to join their team.

Below is a summary of the duties:

• Carry out the planned maintenance
• Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment
• Attend to electrical faults and breakdowns in the factory
• Read and update electrical drawings
• Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to HACCP and BRC standards
• Skilled in fault-finding of single and three phase circuits, relay logic, PLC’s, DC and AC Drives
• Perform routine checks on temperature controllers, sensors, and other equipment
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working on electrical systems.
• Participate in safety training and toolbox talks, emphasizing safe practices when working with high-temperature machinery and hazardous materials.
• Identify potential safety hazards in the workplace and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment manuals.
• Will be required to perform standby duties and work overtime
• Will be required to perform shift work from time to time

Qualifications & experience:

• Matric, N3 and Electrical Trade Test
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical field
• Proficiency in PLC Programming and fault finding as well as SCADA and HMI Programming
• In depth knowledge of DC and AC drives
• In depth knowledge of maintenance practices
• Computer literate
• Willing to go the extra mile
• Team player
