Financial Controller Cape Town Waterfront
Our commercial client in Retail is looking for a Financial Controller to operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple stores while partnering with operations to drive profitability.
Salary Very Negotiable – Hybrid role (1-2 days at home) Early working hours for traffic
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Completed SAICA Articles / SAIPA or CIMA
- 2-3 years post-articles/ saipa/ cima experience – negotiable
- Strong knowledge of SARS compliance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, Xero, etc.)
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Manage creditors, debtors, and 3 accounting staff (Payroll, Debtors and Senior Accountant)
- Prepare and present monthly financial results per store and consolidated group
- Analyze profitability (sales, costs, labor, overheads)
- Monitor key cost drivers including labor, and expenses
- Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and cash control processes
- Ensure SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
- Oversee audit readiness and internal controls
- Develop and maintain SOPs for finance and store processes
- Design and enhance financial and operational reporting
- Monitor cash flow and working capital across stores
