Payroll/HR Officer Epping Cape Town
Our manufacturing and distribution client in Epping Goodwood Cape Town is looking for a Payroll/HR Officer with years of experience. You will be responsible for the accurate processing of a high-volume monthly and/or weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with South African legislation (BCEA, LRA, Income Tax Act, SDL, UIF, and COIDA). The role combines full payroll officer with general HR administrative duties, supporting the HR function across the employee lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential).
- National Diploma or Degree in Payroll Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
- Sage Payroll certification(Sage 300 People / Sage VIP Premier) highly advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' payroll experience large payrolls (1250 employees).
- Experience with Sage 300 People, Sage VIP Premier
- Previous HR administration experience essential.
- Experience with SARS e@syFile, eFiling, uFiling, and COIDA submissions.
- Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Labour Relations Act (LRA)
Income Tax Act (PAYE, SDL, UIF), Employment Equity Act and POPIA
Responsibilities
- Payroll Administration - Process end-to-end weekly, fortnightly, and/or monthly payrolls for a large staff complement of 1250
- Capture new engagements, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, and personal detail changes.
- Process leave, overtime, allowances, deductions, garnishee orders, loans, and third-party payments.
- Reconcile payroll pre- and post-run, ensuring accuracy of net pay, deductions, and general ledger postings.
- Prepare and submit EMP201 monthly and EMP501 bi-annual reconciliations via SARS e@syFile and eFiling.
- Manage UIF declarations (uFiling), COIDA (Workmen's Compensation) Return of Earnings and SDL submissions.
- HR Administration - Maintain accurate employee records on Sage and HR filing systems (both electronic and hard copy).
