My client, a leading manufacturer of catering and baking equipment, is looking for a Machine Builder/Assembler to join their team in Bellville South, Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble Gearboxes, Pulleys, Sprockets, Chains, Conveyors, Rollers, Bearing fitment.
• Make use of all electrical hand tools (Drill, Grinder, Tap Machine) include normal spanners and hand tools.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• At least 5 years experience in a Factory environment and be able to work as a team with previous experience as a Machine Builder
• N4 Mechanical
• Qualified Fitter or Millwright Artisan
• Own transport and be able to come/go to work when working overtime.
• Forklift licence
• Positive attitude and enthusiastic
• Know all sorts of Fasteners, Bolts, Nuts, Screw, Rivet, Rivnuts, Tapping and Die Nut Cutting of Threads
• Must be Healthy and Fit to climb up ladders, Stairs, Pedestals, Work at Heights.
• Safety Conscious (Any previous safety course an advantage,)
• Be able to use the following measuring equipment: Vernier, Angle Protractor, Squares, Spirit Levels and a Tape Measure.
• Know the different types of Sheet Metal (Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium)
• Angle Iron, Tubing, Flat Bar, Channels, Sectional Material – Tig welding of thin stainless steel and mild steel parts
