- Primary position is to oversee and manage all operations and administration of the distribution warehouse inclusive of receiving, processing, dispatching and delivery of stock through to stores, therefore overage and shortages as well.
- Will liaise closely with other departments to ensure a maximum flow of stock through the Warehouse.
- Will ensure that all packing, labelling and pricing requirements are followed correctly.
- Analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements and demand.
- It is solely the responsibility of the Manager to control his controllable expenses, as this directly affects the profitability of the Warehouse. This includes staff, packing and wrapping, teas and cleaning, etc.
- Identify and deliver operation cost reduction.
- Manage performance of staff.
- Managing the security in all aspects of the business and ensuring that security procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Management of staff including discipline as required.
- Manage performance of Staff.
- Payroll / leave – ensure payroll is sent to finance timeously.
- Control the standard of administration and procedures in the production area and enforce the relevant disciplines to maintain these standards.
- Mange the Quality Assurance and supplier charges reports.
- Enforcing strict control over the cleanliness and tidiness of the production area at all times to maintain a high standard
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by Management.
- Develop and implement an integrated logistics strategy, monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and warehousing of goods.
- General assistance: other duties, e.g. Making stickers, invoicing, etc.
- Management of all company vehicles.
- Establish / Chair H&S Committee
- Ensure work area complies with Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Safety Rep & First Aider appointed and trained
- Identify Risk Areas
- Negotiating the services of third party carriers
- Monitoring Service of third party carriers.
- Matric Certificate.
- NQF 5/6 Certificate or Diploma in Retail/Business Management preferable.
- Valid Driver’s License – Code 8 unendorsed
- 5-8 years in relevant Sales/retail/operations environment as an Assistant Manager/ Manager
