Our client in the automotive industry based in Kariega is seeking a Toolroom Supervisor who will be responsible for the design, specification, follow-up and implementation of the production tools, in line with planning, quality (including industry standards) and cost targets.

- Gather input from the product design team.
- Manage process definition and ensure release of tools definition in appropriate product data management (PDM) System.
- Prepare and maintain the integrity of tool documentation for final tool acceptance.
- Propose and implement product and process improvements to fulfil geometric requirements.
- Act as the technical correspondent for the tool supplier (tooling offers and technical design analysis)
- Make tools available for plants so that product and process characteristics are under control.
- Apply Group standards as well as other internal and industrial standards.
- Supervise tool room staff.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of injection molds to minimize production downtime.
- Inspect molds for wear, damages, and dimensional accuracy before and after use.
- Work closely with quality and production teams to resolve mold-related quality issues.
- Enforce strict safety protocols in the tool room and during mold handling.
- Prepare reports on tool room activities, mold performance, downtime and maintenance costs.
- Keep management informed of critical issues and improvement opportunities.
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering/ Trade test in Tool & Die/ Millwright
- At least 5 years within the manufacturing environment, preferably in the
- automotive sector.
- Injection moulding experience
- Knowledge and experience in Project Management Process.
- Knowledge of Production System Efficiency basics.
- Results oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.
- International mindset.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport.
