Kokoseb Gold Project – Namibia

Located in Namibia’s Erongo region, Kokoseb is a joint venture between Wia Gold (80%) and Namibia’s state-owned Epangelo Mining Company. The company is developing it to become Namibia’s next major gold mine, with first gold targeted for the fourth quarter of 2028. The role will provide senior technical oversight across Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Platework (SMPP) activities throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and handover activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, budget and schedule. This position will work closely with EPC/EPCM contractors, vendors and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure the process plant is safely constructed, fit for purpose and maintainable.

• Provide technical oversight of structural, mechanical, piping and platework project scope.
• Review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, calculations and vendor documentation.
• Oversee mechanical equipment installation, structural steel, piping and platework fabrication and erection.
• Support procurement, technical bid evaluations and assessment of vendor and contractor submissions.
• Monitor fabrication and construction quality, including welding, NDT, dimensional control and installation tolerances.
• Manage technical interfaces between SMPP, civil, process, electrical, instrumentation and commissioning disciplines.
• Identify and resolve technical, quality, constructability, cost and schedule risks.
• Support mechanical completion, commissioning, punch-list close-out and final handover to Operations.

• Recognised Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer registration or eligibility for registration will be advantageous.
• Minimum 15 years' relevant SMPP engineering and project experience.
• Extensive mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial capital project experience.
• Experience across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and project handover.
• Strong practical experience with process plant equipment, structural steel, piping and platework.
• Experience with EPC/EPCM contractors, fabricators, construction contractors and equipment vendors.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding, NDT, mechanical installation, quality control and applicable engineering standards.

• Exposure to the full project lifecycle from engineering through commissioning and handover.
• Opportunity to work across multidisciplinary engineering, construction and commissioning teams.
• Role based between the engineering/project office and project environment in Namibia.
• Remote-site and multicultural project environment.
• Contractual terms and remuneration will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
• Candidates must be willing and able to work in a project/site-based environment as required.
