- Responsible for analysis, monitoring and evaluation of materials and plant processes (e.g. metal pretreatment, e-coat) to ensure strict adherence to the company quality standards.
- Use analytical techniques and chemical knowledge to assist with investigations and problem solving.
- Conducts material evaluation as per the ISIR process.
- Conducts calibration/verification of equipment.
- Ensures adherence to SHEQ standards.
- Responsible for self-development.
- Minimum NQF 7 - Degree in Chemistry or relevant equivalent
- 3 years’ experience working in a chemical laboratory
- Experience with automotive coatings, metal pretreatment and e-coat processes would be advantageous
- Experience with various analytical techniques - e.g. Karl Fischer titration, scanning electron microscope, FTIR spectrophotometer – and test methods e.g. titrations.
- Analytical and conceptual thinking.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function.
