Financial Accountant

My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to ensure accuracy in accounting, maintain IFRS standards and drive quality and compliance for the respective business unit. This role involves overseeing accounting processes to provide complete, trustworthy and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will support Debtors and Creditors procedures, control escalations and meet key objectives to mitigate business risk through established processes and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide bi-weekly age analysis to Head of Finance
• Lead month-end processes
• Compile monthly internal review files with commentary for H.O.F
• Oversee weekly and monthly checks and manage escalations with Creditors and Debtors teams
• Assist in statutory audits
• Support general ledger activities, post journals, compile VAT reports, and prepare files for internal and external audits
• Validate bi-weekly invoicing reports with up-to-date commentary
• Ensure timely dispatch of statements and follow-up to secure prompt payments
• Prepare weekly reconciliation's for all bank accounts, sending them to H.O.F for review

Requirements:

• Professional qualification in finance/accounting or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of IFRS standards and statutory compliance
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel
