Financial Director

My client is a leading Retailer and is seeking a Financial Director to join their finance team. Are you a CA(SA) with 8 plus years Post Articles in Retail? If so, this role is for you.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare all financial management reports
• Verify accurate and timeous completion of monthly financial reports 
• Complete month end reporting pack
• Prepare year end Statutory Financial Statements
• Handle annual budget setting, quarterly and rolling forecasts
• Submit budget and forecast packs
• Investigate actual spend vs budget 
• Perform analysis and support business case for proposed new stores and company expansion plans
• Manage AP team
• Verify payments according to supplier terms
• Verify AR is collected timeously 
• Manage implementation id NetSuite ERP
• Expand processes, ensure minimized risk within the region
• Implement appropriate financial controls
• Manage audit process and oversee legal requirements
• Secure adequate insurance cover and manage renewal process as required
• Ensure compliance with corporate tax and VAT requirements
• Manage the team, ensure effective and collaborative team work
• Provide clear communication, guidance and direction when required
• Mentor and development Country Manager
• Participate in meetings, training and other workplace health and safety activities

• CA(SA)
• 10 years experience in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, within the Retail industry
• Previous management experience, strategic financial analysis, planning and execution experience
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
• Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
