Chief Financial Officer

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a strategic CFO to join a major player in the logistics industry based in Cape Town. The ideal individual will be a dynamic executive who can develop and implement financial strategies while managing relationships across a diverse client portfolio of multinational companies and SMMEs. The successful individual will combine strong financial acumen with exceptional commercial awareness, and proven leadership capabilities who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Lead the project finance function
• Evaluate project feasibility, financial viability, and risks
• Manage financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance
• Implement financial controls
• Identify and mitigate financial risks
• Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
• Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risks
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
• Coordinate financial audits and liaise with external auditors
• Lead and mentor the finance team
• Be a member of the Executive Committee

Requirements:

• Qualified CA – Non negotiable
• Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar executive financial leadership role
• Strong financial analysis, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional commercial awareness
• Excellent knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial software
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
