Procurement Officer Paarl Cape Winelands 

 

Our manufacturing/production client in Paarl Cape Winelands is looking for a Procurement Officer 3-5 years experience from a manufacturing environment. 

 

Salary very negotiable plus benefits

 

Min Requirements

Degree in Procurement Management / Supply Chain

Minimum 5 years in technical manufacturing machinery procurement / buying experience. 

Minimum of 5 years experience within a Procure Buying role

Experience in dealing with foreign and local suppliers 

Negotiations regarding pricing 

Technically aligned to understand codes and protocols 

 

Responsibilities:

Review costs to identify cost savings opportunities and variances.

Source and negotiate new raw products for manufacturing/production.

Analyse category, service, material, and supplier costs to provide key decision information.

Review financial goals and provide metrics to understand and report on initiatives and cost structure.

Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors

Ethical purchasing standards and costing

Draft an appropriate service-level agreement

Responsible for order placement timing, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance

Cost-saving budgeting and targeting

Set and plan how to achieve supplier accreditation and service-level management

Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management

Initiate and keep track of orders

Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with supplies.

Monitor delivery times to ensure they are on time

Maintain good relationships with suppliers and negotiate prices on a regular basis
