Key Responsibilities:
- Repair & Maintenance: Oversee the repair and maintenance of all lifting equipment, including electrical hoists, wire hoists, and chain hoists.
- Inspection & Testing: Conduct inspections and assist the Lifting Machine Inspector with load testing and equipment inspections.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on hoists, overhead cranes, and other mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service and inspection activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and filed appropriately.
- Breakdown Maintenance: Address mechanical breakdowns and conduct troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary repairs.
- Installation Support: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and OHSA requirements, ensuring compliance in all tasks.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Use the planned maintenance system to execute maintenance schedules, including shutdown and inline maintenance.
- Contractor Oversight: Supervise contractors on site as required, ensuring that work is performed to company and industry standards.
- Cross-Departmental Support: Provide maintenance support and assistance to other departments as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualifications: Qualified Fitter or Millwright with a recognized trade test.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications: Preference will be given to candidates with LMI (Lifting Machine Inspector) or LTI (Lifting Tackle Inspector) registration.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights without medical restrictions.
- Transport: Must have own reliable transport.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work overtime, shifts, and be available for standby or emergency work at short notice.
