- Ensure all products meet quality standards for customers.
- Apply customer-specific requirements correctly.
- Act quickly and effectively when non-conformances are identified, supporting countermeasure activities.
- Provide feedback on defects to relevant departments.
- Conduct data analysis to optimize processes.
- Perform daily production walks and follow up on corrective actions.
- Design, develop, and implement quality standards for both new and existing products.
- Tertiary qualification (e.g., ND Mech Eng or BTech Quality).
- Auditing certification in IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3.
- Quality-specific training in Core Tools and CSR’s.
- Experience in manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years as a Quality Engineer in a large manufacturing environment; automotive experience is a plus.
- Experience in dealing directly with customers and portals.
- Proficient in Root Cause and Problem-Solving Methodologies (5 Why’s, 4M, 8Ds).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Proficient computer literacy (intermediate to advanced).
- Strong decision-making, attention to detail, and deadline management skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, lead, and be a team player.
- Honest, with integrity, and good communication skills.
- Valid South African driver’s license (for customer and supplier visits).
