ENVIRONMENT:
A Software Company with a focus on digital transformation is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Partner Channel to lead, grow, and optimize our global partner ecosystem. This role is responsible for defining the partner strategy, driving sales through channel partnerships, and ensuring seamless collaboration across all partner touchpoints. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in developing successful partner networks, a track record of revenue growth through indirect channels, and strong leadership abilities. The role is predominantly focused on the African market, with the company growing into the Middle East and Europe in the future.
 
DUTIES:
  • Channel Strategy Development: Define and execute a comprehensive partner channel strategy to support company growth objectives, including recruitment, enablement, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive indirect revenue growth through effective partner relationships by identifying new business opportunities, maximizing partner performance, and achieving sales targets.
  • Partner Recruitment & Onboarding: Identify, recruit, and onboard strategic channel partners, including resellers, distributors, integrators, and technology alliances.
  • Partner Enablement: Lead initiatives to empower partners with the tools, training, and resources needed to effectively sell and support their products or services.
  • Relationship Management: Foster strong, long-term relationships with key partners, providing them with strategic direction and acting as their advocate within the company.
  • Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the internal sales teams to align channel sales with support from the bid office and sales operations team.
  • Proposal and Agreement Assistance: Assist with drafting proposals and commercial agreements on behalf of the company.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Partner with the marketing team to create joint marketing plans, co-branded campaigns, proposals, and promotions that enhance the partner ecosystem’s visibility.
  • Event Participation: Prepare for and attend conferences, roadshows, and marketing events.
  • Performance Measurement: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to partner success, program efficiency, and revenue contributions.
  • Performance Reporting: Report on performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Program Optimization: Continuously refine the partner program structure to improve partner satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability, including the development of incentive programs.
  • Global Expansion: Manage and scale the partner channel in domestic and international markets, adapting strategies to regional nuances and emerging opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing partner channel team, fostering a collaborative, high-energy, and results-driven environment.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Key Requirements:
  • Experience: 7+ years in channel sales, partner management, or business development, ideally within technology sales in the government sector, with at least 3 years in senior leadership role managing partner channels.
  • Track Record: Proven success in scaling and managing partner ecosystems to drive significant revenue growth, both domestically and internationally.
  • Strategic Thinking: Expertise in developing and implementing long-term strategies aligned with business objectives, adaptable to dynamic market conditions.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams, with strong interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire.
  • Relationship Management: Extensive experience in building and maintaining trusted relationships with key partners, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Sales Acumen: In-depth knowledge of indirect sales models, partner-driven growth, and solution-based selling approaches.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of influencing at all levels internally and externally.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Preferred Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with government ICT systems, including experience in border management solutions and transport information systems, along with an understanding of market trends and key players.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Portuguese or French is advantageous.
  • The Role: This position requires a strategic leader with the ability to scale and optimize partner ecosystems, driving growth and building lasting relationships in the technology and government sectors.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CRM and sales enablement platforms.
  • MBA or degree in business, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Experience in Government systems.
