Job Description:
Our client, a multinational mining and metals processing group with a diverse portfolio of operations, projects, and investments across various continents, is currently looking for a strong Manager for Group Resource Estimation and Reporting. The role's main purpose is to lead and standardize geological modeling, resource estimation, and compliance across mining operations while driving innovation, ensuring accuracy, and aligning with international reporting standards.
Responsibilities:
- Visualize and critically evaluate Resource Models and Estimates to support Group Technical activities.
- Perform geological modeling and Resource estimation for selected assets as needed.
- Provide modeling and estimation support to operating segments upon request or direction.
- Conduct technical reviews to ensure resource estimations are accurate, reliable, and adhere to best practices and protocols.
- Support the implementation of group-wide best practices in Geological modeling and Resource estimation.
- Research and implement new technologies in resource estimation, metal accounting, reconciliation, and digitalization.
- Assist the SVP & Group Head of MRM with the design, coordination, and preparation of annual R&R statutory reporting.
- Project manage geology-related activities, including exploration, tenement management, and compliance with SOX standards.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Geology, geostatistics or related field
- Competent Person (SAMREC) in multiple commodities/geological settings, preferably Au, PGMs, and base metals.
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, including 5 years in management.
- Expertise in mining operations, exploration, and project management.
- Advanced proficiency in resource estimation and geological modeling software (e.g., Datamine, Leapfrog, ISATIS, Vulcan, Supervisor).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Registered with SACNASP, ECSA, SAGS, SAGC, or equivalent.
- Clear security screening record.
- Medically fit for mine site visits, underground work, and field trips.
