Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Process Technician to join their dynamic team in Pietermaritzburg.
 
Job Description: 
Documentation Control:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of PI’s, WI’s, FMEA’s, Process Check Sheets.
  • Train Shift Leaders according to standardized documents.
  • Prepare reports on production performance, process deviations, and improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
 Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with process, quality, tooling, maintenance, projects and production teams for ongoing support and troubleshooting.
 Process Monitoring and Control:
  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure production processes adhere to established standards and specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings and parameters to maintain optimal performance.
  • Complete daily Process Checks
 Process Improvement:
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement (ME, TQM).
  • Collaborate with process, quality, tooling, maintenance, projects and production teams to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as A3 Problem Solving, Gemba Walks, Kaizen, 5S, Total Quality Management, Manufacturing Excellence Program, Hoshin Kanri.
  • Use statistical and financial data to justify Kaizens
 Problem Solving:
  • Identify and analyse production issues, determining their root causes.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve production problems promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to address complex issues.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to anticipate and prevent potential problems.
 People Development & Training:
  • Train shift leaders on new processes
  • Develop and mentor students and interns
  • Self-development of engineering skills
  • Train and support production staff on proper use of equipment and adherence to processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members. 
Job Requirements: 
  • Grade 12
  • 2+ years’ minimum relative experience.
  • N6 / N Dip / B-tech Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing process control.
  • Proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills (MS Office)
