Mainframe IT Manager – Z/OS

Our client is urgently looking for the expertise of a Mainframe IT Manager who has the experience managing a Z/OS Mainframe Environment in a Corporate Financial Institution (Banking or Insurance).

 

Required Qualification/s & Certification/s:

• Management Post Graduate Degree or Diploma – Technical Certification in Z/OS Mainframe, ZLinux and OpenShift ZVM Concepts and Architecture

Number of years’ experience required:

• 5 Years Managing a Z/OS Mainframe Environment in a Corporate Financial Institution (Banking or Insurance)

Non-negotiables job requirements:

• Able to Manage a highly skilled technical team in Z/OS Mainframe, ZLinux and OpenShift ZVM
• Understand Mainframe as a platform both Hardware and Software
• Have a good understanding of software life cycle management
• Vendor Management and good understanding of Mainframe Licensing Models
• Have a good understanding of Budget Management
• Have a good understanding of Storage Subsystems
• Have a good understanding of Networking Configurations
• Good understanding of Z/OS Mainframe Concepts and Components

Required Technical Knowledge:

• Z/OS Mainframe Software Engineering, Development and Testing
• Disaster Recovery Modernization
• Mainframe Capacity Planning and Data Analysis

Required Exposure/Experience:

• Managing Highly Technical Diverse Teams
• Vendor Management
• Incident, Problem and Change Management
• Risk Management

Technology environment:

• Z/OS Mainframe Infrastructure and Software Management

Team dynamics & size

• High Performance Extensively Skilled Hardware and Software Engineering Team – 10 People
