Accountant

My client in the Public Relations and Events industry is seeking a hands on Accountant with sound Xero experience. This role is based in Montague Gardens but only 1 day in office. 4 Days at home.

 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the financial management of the company
• Responsible for month end close - Including trial balance-, general ledger-level, as well as transactional processing
• Responsible for VAT recons, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
• Manage inventory
• Assist the Financial Manager with ad hoc tasks
• Prepare monthly Management Accounts
• Ensure compliance with all taxation, statutory and other regulations
• Support the annual budget preparation
• Liaise with auditors when applicable
• Responsible for the development of direct reports
• Assistance with Project Reconciliations due to clients Cost Consultants for large projects
• Focus on continuous improvement - processes, month-end close, delivering results
• Supports Finance Projects

Requirements:

• B.Com or equivalent financial qualification
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience within finance/audit/advisory
• Experience with preparing management accounts and financial statements
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel
• Experience with Xero Project (advantageous)
