Financial Accountant

My client has a unique opportunity available for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established and reputable cold storage operator that provides management solutions. You will be someone with a strong personality, be tech savvy and have a knack for working in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines. Your attention to details is vital when seeing to the accounting principles, procedures and financial operations.

 

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate processing of expenses to correct General Ledger accounts and departments
• Create new ledger accounts in the General Ledger
• Prepare journal entries
• Perform intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
• Preparing fixed asset purchase approval documents
• Oversee the full creditor’s function
• Issuing of purchase orders for approved orders
• Update monthly electricity schedules
• Daily capturing of bank transactions
• Ensure that general ledger accounts are kept up to date
• Prepare bank, petty cash and inventory reconciliations
• Perform VAT reconciliations
• Prepare and submit the VAT201
• Monthly analysis of fleet cards and allocation of fuel cost
• Assist with the preparation of supporting documents for relevant SARS audits
• Assist with audit file preparation for both internal and external auditors

Requirements:

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
• BCom Accounting/ Finance degree
• Minimum of 2-3years’experience in an accounting role within a medium sized organisation
• Microsoft Dynamics Nav experience (advantage)
• Experience in MS Office and MS Excel Intermediary to Advanced level
