2-year Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for a project-based contract in Lusaka Zambia focused on replacing sewer pipes. The ideal candidates must have 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects construction with at least 5 years specializing in water and sewer projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning designing and overseeing the construction of underground sewer systems ensuring compliance with regulations environmental considerations and quality standards. The role includes structural supervision material testing and the management of Quality Control QA and QC systems.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
10+ years of experience in built environment infrastructure projects
5+ years of experience in

Water and sewer pipeline construction
Underground pipework drainage systems and pump stations
Strong background in QA and QC management within construction projects
Experience in sampling testing and material quality control
A training certificate in QA and QC is an added advantage
Excellent problem-solving and technical reporting skills
Previous experience working on projects in Africa is an advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and Design of Sewer Systems
Oversee the layout and construction of underground sewer pipes drainage systems pump stations and manholes
Ensure proper wastewater flow adherence to regulatory standards and minimal environmental impact
Construction Supervision and Quality Control
Monitor on-site structural construction activities related to pipework
Manage sampling testing designing and reporting of all required materials and construction quality tests
Oversee and implement Quality Assurance QA and Quality Control QC systems to ensure compliance
Lead the Conformance Management Unit to enforce quality standards across all project phases
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with engineering codes environmental guidelines and health and safety HS regulations
Provide technical reports and progress updates to project leadership
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with the Contractors Representative and Project Manager to align project execution with set targets
Participate in project meetings to discuss engineering challenges and solutions
