New vacancy is available for a Task Force Quality Technician for our client in the Automotive Industry based in Kariega.
The main responsibility is to ensure that production receives satisfactory parts by implementing sorting or rework activities on problematic components. This is performed to prevent disruptions as reported by Production or Quality Assurance and Verification Management (QAVM). The role also involves pre-analyzing faults reported on purchased parts and working with the Parts Quality Engineer for root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and analyze reported faults in purchase parts and implement containment actions.
  • Conduct rework audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Perform regular product audits to prevent line disruptions.
  • Analyze disruptions through various evaluation methods and report findings.
  • Raise problem sheets with analysis for effective resolution with suppliers.
  • Attend daily non-conforming parts meetings representing Quality Assurance Parts Production (QAPP).
  • Assist in claims-related activities to ensure successful outcomes with Group Quality.
  • Resolve disputes concerning non-conforming parts.
  • Monitor supplier breakpoints and evaluate the effectiveness of parts.
  • Visit local suppliers to enforce corrective measures for part processes.
Qualifications:
  • National Diploma or B-Tech in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Operations Management, Quality).
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of vehicle parts and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement tools (e.g., DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D reports, product audits).
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Understanding of quality standards and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
