Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse and Distribution Management:
- Contribute to the development and recommendation of strategic plans to achieve operational goals.
- Ensure efficient warehouse operations that meet both operational and customer demands.
- Oversee the receipt, packing, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Manage inventory levels and perform regular physical counts, reconciling with the automated system.
- Optimize warehouse space layout to meet current and future capacity requirements.
- Ensure proper storage of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
- Establish and maintain high-security standards within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with partners for daily planning and deliveries.
- Stock Management and Control:
- Oversee the process of stock receipts, ensuring accurate entry into the system.
- Investigate any stock variances and implement rectification plans.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to internal controls and procedures, ensuring integrity and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in identifying and monitoring risks within the warehouse and distribution areas.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, ISO standards, and regulations.
- Customer Service Management:
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers to ensure the highest quality of service.
- Represent the company in meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and integrity in line with company values.
- Provide reports to management on stakeholder-related matters.
- Staff Supervision:
- Ensure all employees have signed performance agreements.
- Monitor employee performance through regular appraisals and collaborate with HR on performance development plans.
- Provide ongoing training and address employee relations matters as they arise.
- Cost and Financial Control:
- Contribute to budget preparation and promote the efficient use of financial resources.
- Monitor and control expenditures to stay within budget and financial guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimize resource usage.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Diploma in Warehouse Management, Distribution, or Logistics (NQF 6).
- Advantageous: Bachelor’s Degree in Warehouse Management, Distribution, or Logistics (NQF 7).
Experience:
- Minimum: 5 years in warehouse or distribution/logistics in a manufacturing environment, with up to 3 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant discipline-specific software.
- Strong understanding of warehousing and distribution processes.
