- Analyzing all inbound solvents materials for qualitative and quantitative properties using various Laboratory instrumentation.
- Ensuring that all routine tests required by Group standards are processed and documented accordingly
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of chemical analysis.
- Ensure that all the Laboratory instrumentation and facilities are calibrated and maintained.
- Maintaining laboratory management system for quality, administrative and technical operations
- Liaising with accredited laboratories to fulfill the Municipal by-law requirements.
- Ensuring compliance by controlling safety requirements on the operation of the laboratory.
- Liaising with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the quality, cost and schedule standards of materials are adhered to.
- Planning, implementing and controlling new work instructions and procedures, for new test methods required
- Coordinating and maintaining all technical and safety data sheets for materials used in the Paint Shop environment.
- National Diploma Chemistry or relevant Engineering qualification
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in chemical analyses, including sample preparation, instrument operation, and data interpretation
- Good Understanding of Chemical Compliance Management and guiding regulations
- Sound technical knowledge of laboratory protocols, testing standards and ISO 17025
- Proven analytical and innovative approach to qualitative and quantitative analysis of products and line problems
- Computer skills (Windows, MS Office)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and be self-motivated
- Sound communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels
