Our client in the finance/accounting industry is seeking a  Accountant (SAIPA) based in Port Elizabeth E.C
 
Duties:
  •  Management
    • Managing a team of 4 to 8 junior accountants and bookkeepers that are providing external services to several clients that have various businesses.
    • The businesses are groups of companies that require outsourced back-office services
    • The team will need to be monitored and supported by the Senior Account Manager
    • The incumbent will be required to liaise with the head-office that provides the ultimate service, and with the clients
      • Troubleshooting processing issues
      • Systems support and recommendations for system improvements
      • Coordinate the team and train team according to the HO requirements
      • Recruit team members
      • Manage team, performance and KPA’s
      • ensure data is correctly processed according to strict requirements
    • Accounting support and management of the team to provide following services
      • Monthly bookkeeping review and support to bookkeepers (see below )
      • Review and correcting monthly management accounts
      • Review and management of accounting controls and systems
      • Journal adjustments
      • Reconciling accounts
      • Reconciling inter-group loan accounts
      • Customer support
      • Monthly working papers
      • Annual financial statements
      • Review of controls and procedures
      • Accounting IT systems support
      • Prepare management accounts
      • Tax computations and preparations
    • General Admin
      • Respond to internal and external queries
      • Timesheets
      • Management and support of team members
      • Prepare reports
Requirements:
  • BCom Degree
  • 5 plus years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping/managing finance team
  • Proficient in the following programs;
    • Xero or Sage or Other
    • Excel (intermediate to advanced)
    • Outlook
Other:
  • Must be present at offices during initial training period (2 months)
  • Hours: 8 – 5 (2/3 days pw) 11 – 8 (2/3 days a week).
  • During peak season Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb 50 hour weeks will be required, during off-peak Apr – Jul drops to 35 hour weeks.
  • Hybrid allowed after initial training period
