Boilermaker – Cold Storage (3-month contract)

Our client is urgently looking for a trade-tested Boilermaker who will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing boilers, tanks, and other large vessels that hold liquids and gases. The primary role involves fabricating, welding, and fitting parts to meet industry standards and safety requirements.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to build boilers, pressure vessels, and tanks.
• Mark, shape, cut, and weld steel plate and structural components.
• Fabricate and assemble metal parts, ensuring all dimensions and welds meet engineering specifications.
• Perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, and Arc welding, on metal components.
• Inspect welding joints and structures for integrity and adherence to industry standards.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair faulty boilers, tanks, and related systems.
• Conduct regular maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
• Work with hand and power tools to repair worn or defective parts.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, particularly those pertaining to working with high-pressure systems.
• Adhere to company safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct routine safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and systems.
• Ensure all work is done to the highest quality standards and according to the client’s specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including maintenance reports, welding certificates, and safety logs.

Qualifications:

• Trade Test Certificate:
• Must be a certified Boilermaker (Trade Tested).
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Boilermaker in a similar role.
• Proven experience with welding, cutting, and metal fabrication.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and Arc).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• The job may involve working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and high / low temperature environments.
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ensure accuracy in measurements, welding, and assembly.
• Strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Communication: Ability to work in teams and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Adjust to varying job conditions and tasks.
