Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Tool Setter & Tool Material Changer to join their dynamic team in Kariega/ Uitenhage.
 
Job Responsibilities: 

Tool Setup & Changeover:
  • Set up and change moulds/tools on injection moulding machines in line with production schedules.
  • Perform tool changeovers safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and optimize production rates.
  • Calibrate and adjust machines and tools as needed to ensure precise operation.
  • Ensure correct tool selection and setup for each production run.

Material Management:
  • Change raw materials (plastics, resins, etc.) in machines as required by the production process.
  • Ensure the correct material is used for each moulding job, including verifying material type, color, and quality.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and liaise with the material supply team to ensure stock availability.

Machine Operation & Maintenance:
  • Operate injection moulding machines and ensure they run efficiently, minimizing waste and downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting on moulding machines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during all tasks.

Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor parts for dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Perform inspections on finished products, ensuring they meet specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues with products or processes.

Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of tool setups, material usage, production runs, and maintenance.
  • Report any machine or process malfunctions to the maintenance team.
  • Record and communicate any issues impacting production efficiency or quality.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure optimal production flow.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to processes and tool setups to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist in training new team members on tool setting and material handling procedures.
Job Requirements: 
  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) 
  • NQF Level 4 (Plastics trade/Plastic Injection Moulding Setter) 
  • Must 2 - 3 years previous experience in role 
  • Knowledge of various raw materials advantageous  
  • Working shifts
