Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to plan, lead, and evaluate cybersecurity projects and initiatives across the Africa region.
- Respond to complex security incidents, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with service providers to resolve threats.
- Provide guidance on implementing and enforcing security controls for applications, networks, intrusion detection, endpoint security, and identity management.
- Assess security risks, design controls, document gaps, and provide remediation strategies with progress reporting.
- Lead technical implementation of security controls and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Stay up to date on cybersecurity trends, threat landscapes, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate security needs, recommend solutions, and enhance cyber incident response capabilities for mining sites.
- Manage service providers, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure effective cybersecurity support.
- Participate in strategic planning and lead tactical initiatives for technology deployment and cybersecurity services.
- Develop and manage budgets, allocate resources, and approve expenditures.
- Represent cybersecurity interests in meetings, committees, and task forces.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
- 7+ years’ experience working in IT and 5+ years working in cyber security.
- MCSE or related certification.
- Professional certification in A+, N+, S+; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); ITIL 4.0.
- Expertise in information security governance, risk management, compliance, and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity frameworks, cloud security, auditing, and multi-layered defence strategies.
- Strong skills in policy development, security system design, supplier evaluation, and intrusion detection.
- Ability to integrate security requirements into acquisitions, assess software quality, and identify vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure.
