The primary objective is to ensure the timely and within-budget completion of all projects to the Group's engineering standards, in line with the corporate business plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary team (Engineers, Technicians, and Artisans) providing engineering expertise for vehicle projects, component development, and the engineering business plan, particularly in drivetrain and dynamics engineering.
- Plan, organize, and manage activities to meet component engineering requirements for chassis systems (hardware and software).
- Represent Product Development in cross-divisional and corporate activities, contributing to projects, discussions, and presentations to define and negotiate development requirements.
- Ensure timely progress of projects by identifying necessary development activities and overseeing their completion.
- Control the build level data of local products, authorizing internal and external change requests and technical data for drivetrain and dynamics development.
- Support corporate decision-making by preparing technical information and making recommendations to ensure product strategy feasibility.
- Develop team members by setting objectives, appraising performance, and providing training to maximize individual potential and maintain high motivation.
- Explore income-generating opportunities within the Group and externally with suppliers and consultants.
- Oversee and maintain relevant facilities, ensuring they meet all quality system requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications: NDip, BTech, BSc, or BEng in a relevant engineering field (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in the automotive sector or a similar field.
- Basic knowledge of development and project processes.
- Experience in the Product Emergence Process.
- Knowledge of Group systems related to product development and release.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Leadership abilities, with experience in developing, training, and mentoring staff.
- Effective communication skills at all levels, along with report writing and presentation expertise.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to establish strong relationships with counterparts.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
