Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a water reticulation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves coordinating subcontractors, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily site operations for the water reticulation project.
  • Supervise and coordinate site workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and timelines.
  • Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Coordinate with project engineers and design teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Manage site documentation, including daily reports, permits, inspection records, and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment are on-site and used efficiently.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues on-site.
  • Support project handover and commissioning phases.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Degree, Diploma or National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience (6+ years) in a site management role on civil infrastructure projects, preferably in water reticulation or utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of water mains, pipelines, valves, and related infrastructure.
  • Sound understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven computer skills.
  • Valid drivers license .
