DUTIES:
Design business process to deliver prioritized projects –
- Prioritization and documentation of business requirements of tasks for all Support Services stakeholders (Credit, Risk, Business Support Centre, Legal, etc.).
- Support the project initiation and feasibility phase.
- Determine business needs and translate them into business processes for prioritization.
- Quantification and motivation of initiatives.
- Ensure work effort is aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and prioritized tasks/projects.
Translate Support Services’ business needs resulting from system changes, tasks, and continuous
improvement into business requirements -
- Complete business requirements specification through facilitated sessions.
- Document business requirements according to agreed standards and timelines.
- Engage in the preliminary technical evaluation of business solutions with the internal IT Department and
- external IT suppliers.
- Assist with the development of the Change Management plan.
- Develop policies and procedures to support the business process.
- Perform the quantification of benefits and costs.
- Engage in commercial negotiations with suppliers.
- Assist with the compilation of the project plan to support the implementation of the business process
- Assist with the User Acceptance Testing of the final system solution or business process, by defining applicable test parameters.
Support the delivery of new revenue growth initiatives -
- Determine alternatives for supporting the growth initiatives.
- Identify legislative, political, social, technical, market, and infrastructure factors that can influence implementation success.
- Support the modelling of capital investment, cost, and revenue from the different alternatives.
- Facilitate the process of making a decision on which alternatives to investigate further by imparting specialist knowledge concerning the various alternatives.
- Develop and detail the required business processes to support the implementation of revenue growth initiatives.
- Support the initiation and compilation of a project implementation plan.
Drive continuous improvement to ensure business benefits of projects are achieved –
- Identify measures for tracking the successful implementation of the business needs
- Put in place the capability to measure the performance of the business processes.
- Examine the performance against the agreed targets and business benefits, through the implementation of measures utilised to monitor performance.
- Identify performance gaps and investigate root causes with the help of stakeholders.
- Agree on corrective actions (Bugs, change controls, training intervention, parameter adjustment, etc.) and assist with the implementation thereof.
- Sign off and close deliverables when process performance and/or business benefit is achieved.
Management of Business Representatives -
- Continuously determine the demand for the Business Representative(s), by translating strategic objectives and business priorities into work items.
- Ensure work is scheduled in line with business priorities.
- Agree on Business Representative(s) individual performance standards aligned to the company and business objectives.
- Measure and review the performance of the Business Representative(s).
- Approve operational corrective action when required.
- Agree on development plans with individuals to improve competency or for succession.
- Put in place training interventions to ensure that Business Representative(s) have knowledge of the delivery process and quality standards.
- Coach the Business Representative(s) on the job to ensure adherence to the delivery methodology.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (IT, Engineering, Finance, or Commercial) (with a preference to Industrial Engineering).
Experience/Skills –
- Min: 10 years of enterprise-wide business design and business process improvement.
- Strategic insight.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet).
- Presentation and facilitation skills.
- Financial modelling skills (Enterprise Architect, BPMN, IDEF0)
- Management (Planning, organising and controlling) skills
- Simulation modelling skills
Ideal:
- Translating corporate strategies and objectives into initiatives and/or projects.
- Initiation and implementation of projects with the goal to improve performance through business process improvements.
- Initiation and implementation of revenue growth initiatives.
- Initiation and implementation of continuous improvement capability.
Knowledge of the following areas is required to perform the job:
- Banking transactional processes.
- Business process mapping methodologies.
- Project Management methodologies.
- Management Operating System best practices.
- Continuous improvement best practices (Lean, 6-Sigma, Theory of constraints).
- Supply Chain methodologies.
- Incident Management and Workflow methodologies.

- Must be able to function under pressure and tight deadlines.
