New vacancy is available for a Packaging Manager for our client in the FMCG Manufacturing Industry, based in Gqeberha.
The Packaging Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product packaging. This role involves managing personnel, materials, and energy resources to meet the Sales and Operational Plan, ensuring products are packaged and delivered On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) while minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. People Management & Development:
    • Identify training needs and develop plans.
    • Conduct performance reviews and support career growth.
    • Ensure alignment with company HR policies and maintain a healthy work environment.
  2. Plant & Process Operations:
    • Manage packaging in line with company standards.
    • Monitor process parameters and collaborate with Quality for improvements.
    • Drive productivity, reduce losses, support audits, and maintain equipment integrity.
    • Apply structured problem-solving methods for breakdowns.
  3. Programs & Systems:
    • Implement strategic programs (e.g., TPM) and systems effectively.
  4. Investments:
    • Contribute to capacity planning and investment proposals.
    • Support execution and implementation of technical upgrades.
  5. Planning & Budgeting:
    • Ensure efficient resource allocation and stock levels.
    • Assist in budgeting and monitor performance against targets.
  6. Environment & Sustainability:
    • Promote waste, water, and energy reduction.
    • Ensure legal and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
  7. Health & Safety:
    • Enforce safety compliance, PPE usage, and safe work permits.
    • Support incident investigations and maintain high housekeeping standards.
  8. Other Contributions:
    • Support health & safety policies and act as TPM team/pillar member when required.
Requirements:
  • Education: Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3+ years as Departmental Manager or 5+ years as Team Leader in food manufacturing.
