Nature and Scope:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) through the Actuarial Officer, the Actuarial Analyst shall be responsible for supporting the Actuarial Officer and the CFO in financial reporting and reserving, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain actuarial models for reserving and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS standards.
    • Analyse and interpret financial data to support the preparation of accurate financial statements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of financial reporting processes.
    • Assist in the assessment of insurance liabilities and the adequacy of reserves.
    • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, identifying trends and potential risks.
    • Contribute to the implementation of new IFRS standards and ensure ongoing compliance.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary actuarial documentation and explanations.
    • Stay abreast of developments in actuarial science and financial reporting standards and provide updates to the relevant stakeholders as and when necessary; and
    • Perform such other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Chief Financial Officer and the Actuarial Officer as long as the work is within the scope of ATIDI’s business objectives.

 

Role Specifications:

    • A master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field; or progression towards certification by an actuarial professional body such as the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).
    • A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
    • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in an actuarial role within the finance or insurance industry.
    • Proven experience in financial reporting and reserving under IFRS standards.
    • Proficiency in actuarial modelling software and advanced skills in excel and python/R.
    • Contributed to the implementation of IFRS17 within an insurance company.
    • Knowledge of IFRS and accounting procedures.
    • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
    • Strong planning and organizing skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Proactive and autonomous;
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
    • Good report writing and presentation skills.
    • French language competency will be an added advantage.
