Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, financial planning, risk management, budgeting, leadership experience, and regulatory compliance, along with strong analytical and organizational skill and a solid understanding of financial regulations.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger operations
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Develop, manage, and oversee the company’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • Support strategic initiatives and business planning through financial modelling and analysis
  • Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with GAAP (or IFRS)
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage internal controls, financial audits, and risk assessments
  • Support audits (internal and external) by providing documentation and explanations
  • Manage internal controls, policies, procedures and risk assessments
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to all staff required
  • Supervise and mentor finance/accounting staff, ensuring efficient team performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial goals

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
  • CPA, CMA, CFA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 10 – 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft) with Acumatica experience a great advantage

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Knowledge of tax reporting and compliance
  • Experience in strategic planning and business development
  • Understanding of international finance and multi-currency environments (for global firms)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with inventory, job costing, and project-based accounting
