Financial Controller

Job Description

My client is seeking a Financial Controller who will be responsible for ensuring sound financial governance, reporting accuracy and commercial insight that drives client success. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ post-articles commercial experience in a financial management or controller role.

 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations for 3 distinct outsourced client projects
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure audit readiness
• Develop, implement, and monitor financial controls and reporting processes
• Assist with strategic financial planning and business analysis for each project
• Support tax compliance, VAT, and regulatory submissions
• Serve as the key finance liaison for clients, building trusted advisory relationships
• Prepare audit files and supporting documentation for external audit purposes
• Communicate with key stakeholders including auditors, clients, and regulatory bodies
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial laws, regulations, and reporting standards

Requirements:

• BCom Degree (Accounting, Management Accounting, or Finance)
• Completed Articles (CIMA, SAIPA, or SAICA)
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-articles commercial experience in a financial management or controller role
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management
• Client-centric mindset with a solutions-driven approach
