- Mechanical and Electrical Knowledge:
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and electrical circuits.
- Strong fault-finding skills for both mechanical and electrical issues.
- Experience with reading and interpreting technical drawings (both mechanical and electrical).
- Flexibility in Working Hours:
- Willingness to work after hours, especially to minimize production downtime.
- Ability to manage time effectively without direct supervision.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Experience with general plant and machinery repairs, including the installation of new equipment.
- Preventative maintenance on all machinery.
- Ability to work at heights and operate welding and cutting torch equipment.
- Liaison with Suppliers:
- Responsibility for ordering and managing necessary spares.
- Housekeeping and Safety:
- Ensuring that the area is kept clean, including overseeing fire safety equipment.
- Ability to manage and maintain CCTV systems and wiring, ensuring they are operational.
- Supervision and Documentation:
- Capability to manage an assistant and handle necessary paperwork for ISO and other regulatory requirements.
- Physical Labour:
- Willingness to perform manual tasks when necessary (e.g., mixing concrete, equipment movement).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Experience with fault-finding on CNC machines and general plant machinery repair.
- Foundry Experience: Exposure to a foundry environment is advantageous.
- PLC Programming: Familiarity with PLC systems and programming is a bonus.
- Plumbing and Pipe Work: Experience with water and air reticulation systems is beneficial.
- Crane/Hyster Operation: A crane or hyster operation license, even if expired, is helpful.
