Our client, a national construction/engineering company, specialising in medium to large scale projects, seeks to employ an experienced and qualified, SACPCMP registered Health and Safety Officer, with experience in the construction sector, for their operation in Cape Town where you will be reporting to the Health and Safety Manager.

This role is on a contractual basis with the view to going permanent based on performance.
 
Please note that this is NOT suited to candidates from the mining or manufacturing sector, you must have experience in the construction or engineering sector, working on medium to large scale projects and be SACPCMP registered
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:
  •  You will have completed Matric, as well as SAMTRAC and HIRA certifications,  be registered as a Safety Officer with SACPCMP, and have a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer within the Civils, Building and related sector.
  • You must have previous experience in Construction with a strong emphasis on safety, procedure development and implementation, risk management, and continuous training.
  • You must have knowledge and experience with reporting, Workmen’s Compensation, relevant legislations, and understand the admin revolving those key areas – MS Office experience is also essential.
  • You must have experience in conducting internal and external audits, be au fait with and remain in close contact with regulatory bodies, as initiate consistent improvements.
  • You will be highly motivated, communicate effectively and provide a proactive approach to Safety on site and in the office.
  • You must be a detailed-orientated and organized team player with demonstrated delivery in high pressure situations.
  • You must have a driver’s license, a clear criminal and credit record, and reliable transport.
