Workshop Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Service and maintain forklifts/material handling equipment to set standards.
• Diagnose breakdowns, advise on required repairs, and complete accurate maintenance records.
• Promote maintenance programs and ensure customer satisfaction through professional service.
• Communicate effectively with customers, Field Service Team Leader, and Controller.
• Comply with OHSACT and maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep technical knowledge current through ongoing learning.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Qualification: Trade-tested Diesel/Petrol or Forklift Mechanic.
• Experience: 2–3 years' experience with forklifts (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical).
• Knowledge: Basic auto-electrical systems; ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Skills:
  
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication (spoken and written English).
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Additional Requirements:

• Physically fit and able to handle the physical demands of the role.
• Willing to work overtime and standby when required.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.

Licences & Certifications:

• Trade Test Certificate (Mechanic)
• Code 8 Driver’s Licence
• Valid Forklift Operator Licence
