The Site Engineer / Concrete Co-ordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating all concrete-related works on a large concrete structure project. This includes planning, supervising, and executing concrete operations to ensure they are delivered to specification, on programme, and within budget, while upholding the highest quality and safety standards.
Reports To: Project Manager / Contracts Manager / Site Agent
Role Purpose:
The Site Engineer / Concrete Co-ordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating all concrete-related works on a large concrete structure project. This includes planning, supervising, and executing concrete operations to ensure they are delivered to specification, on programme, and within budget, while upholding the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of concrete works, ordering, delivery, QA/QC requirements and record keepingordering, delivery, QA/QC requirements and record keepinReview and interpret structural drawings and rebar schedules to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Manage concrete supply logistics — batching plant schedules, deliveries, mix designs, and placement.
- Supervise subcontractors and site teams during concrete operations.
- Conduct and monitor quality control processes: slump tests, cube tests, curing, and pour records.
- Maintain daily site reports, pour cards, and progress documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Consultants on technical matters.
- Enforce health and safety standards on all concrete-related activities.
- Contribute to construction planning, sequencing, and cycle programming for large pours.
- National Diploma / BTech / BEng in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reinforced concrete works on large-scale projects (high-rise structures, bridges, silos, industrial, or similar)
- Strong technical knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, and shuttering/formwork systems.
- Experience managing subcontractors and large-scale concrete operations.
- Knowledge of quality control standards, testing procedures, and site documentation.
- Computer literacy in MS Office; experience with site management software advantageous.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and technical decision-making.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality delivery.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
