Contract: Minimum 12 month Contract
A luxury private island destination and wellness retreat is looking for a highly experienced and visionary General Manager. The role is responsible for leading operations, ensuring financial success, and delivering an exceptional world-class guest experience to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The General Manager will oversee all departments, maintain property standards, and lead philanthropic initiatives while ensuring seamless service delivery and sustainable practices. This position requires a dynamic leader with strong financial oversight, operational expertise, and the ability to inspire and engage teams across all functions
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 6+ years as a General Manager in a luxury all-inclusive resort, private island, or boutique hotel.
Proven expertise in financial management, operations leadership, and guest experience excellence.
Strong background in procurement, cost control, and vendor negotiations.
Solid understanding of property maintenance and asset management.
Crisis management and PR handling experience, especially with high-profile guests.
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and eco-tourism strategies.
Strong communication, leadership, and team development skills.
Background in philanthropic or corporate social responsibility initiatives (advantageous).
Multilingual skills (advantageous).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategy & Operations
Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and performance goals in partnership with ownership.
Direct daily operations, ensuring brand standards and world-class service for HNW and UHNW guests.
Guide Finance and Operations Managers on cost control, profitability, and continuous improvement based on guest/owner feedback.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead by example with a visible presence, engaging daily with staff and guests.
Drive recruitment, training, development, and retention of motivated teams.
Oversee daily stand-ups, performance reviews, and growth pathways.
Ensure compliance with BVI labor laws and HR best practices.
Financial & Procurement Management
Review and manage budgets, financial reports, and departmental accountability.
Lead procurement, vendor negotiations, and capex projects to ensure cost-efficiency and quality.
Property & Maintenance Oversight
Conduct daily property walks, ensuring luxury standards across guest areas, staff housing, and infrastructure.
Oversee preventative maintenance, sustainability initiatives, and safety compliance with Maintenance and Grounds teams.
Philanthropy & Community Initiatives
Provide strategic leadership for recovery and ranch initiatives.
Align community impact projects with brand values and engage guests in philanthropic activities.
Staff Accommodation Oversight
Manage employee housing, inspections, and housekeeping.
Enforce housing agreements and maintain rooming lists.
Sales & Marketing
Build partnerships with local businesses, event planners, and tourism boards.
Develop and market packages (weddings, retreats, private events) and oversee PR, media, and influencer collaborations.
Support reservations with pricing, contracts, packages, and guest engagement.
Drive loyalty, referral, and local outreach programs to enhance brand visibility.
Stakeholder Relations
Act as liaison with ownership, ensuring prompt execution of requests and providing regular updates.
Compliance & Risk Management
Lead crisis management, emergency preparedness, and insurance oversight.
Ensure compliance with laws, licenses, safety standards, and sustainability initiatives.
Other Duties
Maintain confidentiality of high-profile guests and ownership.
Represent the island professionally on and off duty.
Uphold grooming/uniform standards, prepare for hurricanes/events, and support charitable initiatives.
Execute additional projects as requested by management or ownership.
