Compliance Officer Sandton Johannesburg
Our client in financial services is looking for a Compliance Officer qualified and with 5 -7 years’ experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our financial services operations comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Min Qualifications and requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field; a relevant postgraduate qualification or compliance is an added bonus
5 years plus years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related role within the financial services industry.
Strong knowledge of South African financial regulations, including the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS), the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), and other relevant legislation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey compliance concepts to various stakeholders.
Proficiency in compliance monitoring tools and software is an advantage.
Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those set forth by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.
Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities as required, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of compliance issues.
Implement monitoring systems to detect and prevent compliance breaches, including transaction monitoring and trade surveillance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors regarding compliance matters.
Assist in developing crisis management plans and manage communication during compliance-related issues to protect the company’s reputation.
