New role is available for a Fleet Controller for our client in the FMCG-industry, based in Gqeberha.

Main Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the company fleet operations.
  • Assign and provide clear instructions to drivers.
  • Complete, verify, and review drivers’ trip sheets and timesheets.
  • Ensure regular maintenance and servicing of all fleet vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet reports.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping systems.
  • Supervise and manage transport department personnel.
  • Plan, schedule, route, and track transport vehicles efficiently.
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and service providers.
  • Handle and account for cash payments from customers, when required.
  • Resolve driver, customer, or operational disputes professionally.
  • Monitor and analyse operational performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Enforce and update transportation policies and scheduling procedures as needed.
  • Perform all additional tasks and responsibilities reasonably expected by the employer.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Solid administrative background.
  • Knowledge of trucks, vehicle components, and tracking systems.
  • Proven experience working with drivers and handling fleet tracking systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
