New role is available for a Quality Engineer for our client in the Automotive Industry, based in Kariega.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that motor vehicle components consistently meet specifications throughout their entire lifecycle. This includes:
  • Leading and managing the Qualifying Program for the introduction of new parts.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives by identifying root causes of part deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Testing and evaluating part performance to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Providing technical expertise on part materials and functionality.
  • Developing and proposing design improvements to resolve complex part-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistent performance of vehicle components to defined specifications across their lifecycle.
  • Initiate and manage the Qualifying Program for new part introductions.
  • Identify and resolve part deviations through all lifecycle phases using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Conduct testing and performance evaluations of parts based on technical specifications.
  • Offer technical insights on material selection and part functionality.
  • Recommend and implement design enhancements for complex component issues.
Qualifications:
  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of motor vehicle parts, their functions, specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
  • Solid technical understanding of vehicle components and systems.
  • Proficiency in Quality Tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and related documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present effectively at all organizational levels and externally.
  • Capable of working independently and managing tasks proactively.
  • Willingness to travel both locally and internationally on short notice.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
