We are seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter with Injection Moulding experience for our client based in Gqeberha.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure machines and the factory are properly maintained and operational.
  • Maintain live documentation at designated machines where necessary.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on chillers, cooling towers, and compressors.
  • Execute repairs, maintenance, and modifications as required or requested.
  • Ensure general upkeep of factory grounds and structures.
  • Complete all assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Follow all reasonable instructions, prioritizing mandatory scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Perform welding and fabrication for new equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Complete documented weekly maintenance checklists accurately.
  • Adhere strictly to company health and safety procedures, ensuring personal compliance and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Comply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Follow company uniform policies at all times.
  • Immediately report any health and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a consistently clean and tidy factory environment.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping practices within the maintenance department, ensuring all similar items are stored in an organized and traceable manner.
  • Support factory efficiency and effectiveness through diligent maintenance practices.
  • Proactively seek methods to implement preventative maintenance to address root causes of breakdowns.
  • Comply fully with all company policies and procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues and management, embracing a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate maintenance activities with production plans, minimizing disruptions.
  • Participate in standby duties as required.
  • Work scheduled shifts as assigned.
  • Perform any additional ad hoc duties as necessary.
Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Qualified Fitter with relevant certification.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Skilled in steel fabrication, including designing and sketching own layouts.
  • Proficient in arc welding techniques.
  • Own reliable transport is required.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach and strong initiative.
  • Dependable and trustworthy.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility.
  • Experience with hydraulics, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience in injection moulding
