Senior Financial Accountant

Job Description

We’re looking for a detail-driven Financial Accountant to take ownership of our clients core accounting, reporting, and compliance functions. This permanent role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to contribute to meaningful decision-making.

 

What the role is all about:

You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial decisions, reporting directly to the CFO.

 

What you will be doing:

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports, and schedules
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Reconcile accounts and resolve general ledger discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and insights
• Oversee AP, AR, and fixed asset accounting teams
• Assist with treasury functions and manage foreign exposure risks
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure timely tax filings and regulatory submissions
• Implement internal controls to safeguard assets

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (minimum)
• Professional designation advantageous (CIMA / SAICA / SAIPA)
• 7+ years’ proven experience as a Financial Accountant
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and regulations
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (e.g., MS Dynamics BC365, Sage)
• Systems implementation exposure highly advantageous
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and organised
